York Road Stadium is a football stadium in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England. It is the home ground of Maidenhead United F.C. and is acknowledged by The Football Association and FIFA to be the oldest continuously-used senior association football ground in the world by the same club, having been home to the club since 1871. A blue plaque commemorating this is placed just inside the home turnstiles on the York Road side of the ground.

The current capacity of the ground is 4,500 (550 seated) and holds an “A” grading. The club’s record attendance is 7,989 for the 1936 FA Amateur Cup quarter-final against Southall. A further 2,000 spectators are estimated to have watched the match from the adjacent railway embankment. The ground record attendance was set on Easter Monday 1947 when 8,277 people paid total receipts of £494 to watch the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup Final between Slough Town and Wycombe Wanderers. The ground facilitates fans in a mixture of covered all-seater stands, covered and uncovered traditional terraces and flat concrete by the side of the pitch.

York Road Stadium has undergone a number of renovations over the years, most recently in 2017 when the East Stand was redeveloped into a new 550-seater stand. The stadium also has two tea bars, a large club shop and a Maidenhead United Stripes Bar.

By car:

From London, take the M4 motorway west towards Reading. At junction 8/9, take the A404(M)/A308(M) exit to High Wycombe/Maidenhead. Merge onto Holyport Interchange and keep right to stay on Holyport Interchange. Keep right at the fork to stay on Holyport Interchange and keep left at the fork to continue on A308(M), following signs for Maidenhead Central. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Windsor Rd/A308. Continue to follow A308 and at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Stafferton Way. Go through 1 roundabout and continue onto Stafferton Link. Take a sharp left onto Forlease Rd and at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto York Rd. York Road Stadium will be on your left.

By train:

The nearest railway station to York Road Stadium is Maidenhead Station. The station is served by trains from London Paddington, Oxford, and Reading. From the station, it is a short walk to the stadium. Exit the station and turn right onto Queen Street. Then take the next right turn onto York Road. York Road Stadium will be on your left.

By bus:

There are a number of bus routes that serve York Road Stadium. The most convenient bus route is the 17, which runs from Maidenhead Town Centre to the stadium. The bus stop outside the stadium is called “York Road Stadium”.

On foot:

If you are staying in Maidenhead town centre, you can easily walk to York Road Stadium. The walk takes approximately 20 minutes. Head west on High Street and then turn left onto Queen Street. Then take the next right turn onto York Road. York Road Stadium will be on your left.
